WELCOME to the 2012 Film Submissions page of the Rail City Roadshow, the premier touring film festival! We pride ourselves on discovering and promoting all forms of international and independent cinema, both in short form and feature-length and bringing them to cities across the country!
A GREAT VENUE FOR YOUR FILM
This being the inaugural year for the Roadshow, we expect to cover a lot of ground, taking your films coast to coast in front of thousands of people. August and September 2012 will see the roadshow screen at over 30 cities and include both shorts and features. The Rail City Road Show is a unique experience run by film fans for film fans.
MASSIVE EXPOSURE
Imagine your film being screened across the country in numerous cities. Imagine all the media coverage that will take place. Imagine all the people coming to see your film. This doesn’t only have to happen for the hollywood system movies. You don’t need to have a distribution deal get it seen outside of your home town. You don’t have to spend a huge amount on festival fees just to have it screened in one place. The Rail City Roadshow is designed to take your hard work on the road and expose it to as many people as possible. We want you to get the buzz you deserve! That’s why our festival team invests tremendous time and energy not just in our selection of programming, but also in working closely local promoters in each city to get the coverage and exposure for our chosen films. The goal is to get your films in more media outlets spread across Television, Print, Radio and the Web. Applying to this festival is like applying to 30 festivals in one.
THE TOP CHOICE FOR FILMMAKERS
To help filmmakers get even more buzz for their movies, we also hand out a number of awards at the end of our tour. These include our Audience Choice Awards (all features and shorts eligible) and Rail City Award for outstanding independent filmmaking. Filmmakers know that if they are are programmed at our festival, we will go out of our way to get them the very best audience and buzz possible.
GENRE ELIGIBILITY
The Rail City Roadshow seeks independent feature-length and short films from around the world in any of the following genre groups:
Horror, Supernatural
Sci-Fi, Fantasy
Animation
Crime, Action, Thriller, Suspense
Cult, Bizarre, Genre-defying, Experimental
SHORT FILM ELIGIBILITY:
Completed after January 1st, 2010
Run time of a maximum of 20 Minutes
Not previously submitted to this festival
DVD (NTSC) will be available for screening during the festival
Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English
FEATURE FILM ELIGIBILITY:
Completed after January 1st, 2010
Run time of 60 minutes or longer
Must not have played in Canada on TV/cable/satellite, nor be available on DVD in Canada, nor available online (only applies to feature films)
Not previously submitted to this festival
DVD (NTSC) will be available for screening during the festival
Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English
2012 SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Please submit early to save on our submission fees. Your submission package must be postmarked by the following dates to meet the respective deadline:
